Twin Beans Coffee Company is a locally owned coffee shop in Twin Falls, Idaho. They are committed to providing sustainably and ethically produced coffee, as well creating a warm and inviting space where anyone can come to relax. They came to us in need of a design refresh on their website and physical assets like menus and packaging.
The challenge with creating effective brand messaging for Twin Beans was trying to strike a harmony between content that is educational, and content that is designed to attract customers. We needed to create compelling web copy that would inspire visitors to stop into the shop, while also encouraging them to explore the rest of the site and learn more about the coffee making process.
Storybrand: As with all of our other sites, we used the Storybrand method to create customer-focused content that would help people feel connected to Twin Beans. We wanted visitors to be able to feel the passion and dedication that the whole Twin Beans team has to providing a welcoming atmosphere and sustainable coffee.
Twin Beans needed to have consistency across their entire brand, while also having different unique visual elements for all of their different products and services. Particularly, they wanted to have a lot of emphasis on educating their customers about the coffees they sell and produce. The challenge here was trying to create several distinct elements that were all united under the same brand umbrella.
In total, we worked closely with the Twin Beans team on a huge branding overhaul. Their menu was redesigned with space included to incorporate educational elements for curious customers. 16 different labels were made for their coffee bags, each with unique information about the coffee blends within including brief origin stories and flavor profiles. New future blends will receive their own custom labels, as well so this project is ongoing!
There were a lot of different brand aspects that Twin Beans wanted to embody. They wanted to have a website that felt welcoming, clean, informative, professional, bright, and natural. The challenge here was trying to incorporate all of these different unique elements in a way that felt cohesive, and also clearly communicated the atmosphere that makes Twin Beans so special!
We used bright white backgrounds and open space to embody Twin Bean’s welcoming and airy atmosphere. Unique graphic elements helped convey a very modern and professional appearance. Finally, neutral and earthy colors helped bring to mind their mission to provide sustainably and ethically sourced coffee.
We figured the only way to make educational approachable for other coffee novices was to learn more for ourselves! We did some fairly deep research on the life cycle of a coffee bean in order to create educational content for the site — we covered everything from coffee bean processing to the different stages of bean roasting! The result is an educational “Learn Coffee” page that is useful for coffee novices and coffee connoisseurs alike.
