Rudy’s is that place: a beloved downtown Twin Falls cornerstone, known for its charming small-town warmth and classic retail experience. But even the most timeless of brands deserve a refresh.

How do you update an iconic community fixture without losing its heritage? Our team had to walk the knife’s edge between preserving cherished history and growing Rudy’s toward a vibrant new era.

Brand Strategy

For more than a century, Rudy’s has been woven into the fabric of Twin Falls. From its early days as Price Hardware in 1904 to its beloved chapter as Rudy’s - A Cook’s Paradise, it earned something far greater than recognition. It earned trust. When it came time to reimagine the brand, the challenge wasn’t simply aesthetic. It was emotional. How do you evolve a legacy without unsettling the very community that built it?

More than a new look, this transition demanded reverence. The rebrand became a careful balancing act between heritage and horizon. The goal wasn’t to replace what Rudy’s had always been, but to reveal what it was becoming. Elevated yet familiar, refreshed yet rooted. In doing so, Rudy’s stepped confidently into its next chapter without losing sight of the passion, connection, and sense of belonging that have always defined it.

New Brand, Who Dis?

Brand Standards Guide

Our team redesigned the Rudy’s logo, refined the color palette, and finalized a brand standards guide. The last step was to craft an elevated voice that stays true to what Rudy’s has always been while looking towards its exciting future.

While Rudy’s is and always will be “A Cooks Paradise” we wanted to invite, even challenge, our community to imagine developing their cooking to new horizons. Beyond just cookware and wine, we hope to "Elevate Your Kitchen" from fresh charcuterie combinations to staple ingredients needed in every kitchen worth its salt.

Typography

The typefaces chosen for Rudy’s are an expression of the voice behind the brand. Refined, welcoming, and rooted in tradition. Cormorant Garamond carries a quiet distinction reminiscent of old typeset found in hardbound cookbooks. Its classic serifs speak to quality, while its graceful curves soften the tone, ensuring the brand feels warm and approachable.

Balancing this is Utile, a sans serif that walks the margin between legible and modern. It offers a clean and purposeful aesthetic while still maintaining a sense of timeless elegance. Together, these typefaces create harmony: heritage paired with clarity, story paired with structure. Across print, digital, and in-store materials, the typography becomes the thoughtful and enduring voice of Rudy’s.

Logo Creation

To start, Corry whipped up 48 different logo thumbnail sketches and presented them to Omni Kids. Presenting a large variety of sketches gives clients the opportunity to say “I really like this” and “I really don’t like that.” Oftentimes we find that most people don’t know what sort of style elements they like or dislike until they have examples right in front of them. That’s why we make sure to start with a wide variety of options so that we can focus in on the perfect direction.

With brand standards in place, it was showtime: The new Rudy’s website launched—elegant, timeless, and classic. Along with this reimagined online presence, we refreshed Rudy’s email marketing, social media aesthetics, and strategy!

Digital Campaign

Rudy’s built its reputation via word-of-mouth and traditional marketing; mostly local TV ads. With a nimble new strategy of digital ads, email campaigns, a fresh website, and an updated brand, we would expand Rudy’s customer base—without alienating loyal, longtime patrons.

Social Media

Rudy’s has always hosted cooking classes and experiences. However, it hasn’t always received its due attention. Armed with a mission to build a community around food and cooking, we’ve reinvented the process for getting the word out. Using social media, paid ads, and email marketing, Rudy’s is stepping fully into the digital age. A new online event calendar spills all the details and allows for easy online registration.

Video Ads

Aspirational living & Brand Messaging

To successfully implement Rudy’s new brand messaging, Rinard Media bridged the gap between their long-standing heritage and a modern, aspirational lifestyle. By evolving the classic "A Cook's Paradise" tagline into the more active "Elevate Your Kitchen," the video ad shifted the focus from simple retail to the emotionally experience of home cooking and hospitality.

Product Design

Graphic design at Rudy’s is more than an aesthetic update; it is a visual bridge between twenty years of nostalgia and a vibrant future. Our approach to the Rudy’s rebrand centered on "walking the knife’s edge"—preserving the warmth of a downtown staple while introducing the sophistication required of a modern culinary brand.
