On-Site SEO Optimization

The goal of Search Engine Optimization is to improve your website’s rankings on Google with the intention of getting more organic traffic to your site. A lot of the work done in pursuit of this goal is called On Site Optimization. On Site Optimization refers to the process of optimizing a website’s structure and content to make it more search engine-friendly. There are several different ways to improve your website’s on site optimization. We’ll be focusing on 6 strategies.

Keywords

Keywords are the words or phrases that your potential customers are typing into their search engines. The content of your website must have an appropriate amount of keywords on it. For our website at Rinard Media some keywords that are important to us are Digital Marketing, Web Design, and Branding. Without keyword stuffing (more on that later) look for every opportunity to include these valuable keywords in your content.

To make sure you’re using the right keywords, you must do keyword research to find out what people are searching for. This will help you ensure you’re not missing any chances to get noticed. Semrush is one of the more popular tools used in keyword research. We’ll speak about this in more detail in another blog post.

Visual Assets

Incorporating visuals such as images, videos, and infographics on your website not only enhances its appeal to visitors but also presents you with opportunities to improve your SEO rankings. 59% of online users believe that visual information is more important than textual information. There are two things to keep in mind in mind with images; the first is the file size of your images to avoid slow page loading times and the other is making sure to include alt text descriptions on all images. Alt-text descriptions are a point of emphasis for Google. They allow visually impaired users to have greater accessibility to your site. Learn how to write good alt-text descriptions here.

Title Tags

Title tags are HTML elements that provide a brief and concise description of a webpage’s content. They appear in the head section of an HTML document and are displayed as the clickable headline on Google’s results pages. Title tags are crucial for SEO and the user experience as they give users an idea of what to expect from the webpage they are about to visit. Title tags should have relevant keywords and have less than 60 characters.

Meta Description

Although meta descriptions are not widely considered a significant factor in SEO, they can provide two important advantages: firstly, they assist Google in comprehending the content of your webpage. Secondly, they have a substantial impact on your click-through rate.

When you improve your meta descriptions, you provide searchers with a clearer idea of the information contained on your webpage. Consequently, this can increase the number of people who click through to your page. So, it’s crucial not to overlook them.

URL Structure

A URL is the address where your website can be found. It is important that your URL is simple, descriptive, and has relevant keywords when possible. Having keywords in your URL used to be very important. However, Google has deemphasized this so don’t stress to much about having all the keywords in your URL. It is also important that you don’t change your URL. So make sure you pick one that you know you will stick with for the long haul.

Links

Establishing a large link profile is crucial in establishing your website’s authority and relevance. Various types of links exist, categorized by the destination they lead to, such as links leading to pages on the same site or different domains. Internal links connect pages within your website, whereas inbound links, also known as backlinks, direct users to your webpage from another website. Conversely, outbound links refer to links on your website directing users to external sites. Look for every opportunity to build your internal, outbound, and backlinks whenever you can.

Conclusion

On Site Optimization is where a lot of the heavy lifting in SEO is done. While this is just an introduction, if you implement these strategies your site will be off and running towards increasing it’s rankings on Google.
